Why all of the sudden would the world end now? Just because it's been APPROXIMATELY 2000 years since Christ died? What would that have to do with anything of the world ending? THIS IS SILLY!!! |

| Date: 2/4/2000 I am not deeply religeous,but do believe what it says in the bible. The local Jehovahs Witnesses helped explain my Questions, not by just talking about it, but actually showing me where it said the answers to my Questions. I first wanted to know if all bibles where the same or were theirs different? I found they all said the same thing. They have scarily accurate answers to all the sticky questions. I asked if the world was going to end, and they said no, but this system of things would. The lords prayer says "thy kingdom come" This means that Gods kingdom comes here. All I am saying is that if you have Questions, they are well worth asking in a respectful manner of course. After studying alot of religeons, it seems to me that the Witnesses are the most accurate "no nonsence" group I know of.They follow the bibles instuctions without all the man made crap that accompanies other religions. They showed me that most of the pomp and ceremony with the catholics actually came from pagan times and they were asociated with devil worship and other unsavory practices. Even the throwing of confetti at weddings came from this. It is very eyeopening. I wish I had the conviction to be more like them.Just please, instead of getting the garden hose out next time they call, ask some questions. They will be happy to answer them, and really dont get offended if you are still not interested. they are happy to get you thinking at least. |

I don't think we should degrade anyones religion. we believe what we believe, If we believe in God and we do our best to please him, will he send us to hell because we chose the wrong way to worship him? I don't think so. And by the way, no one knows when the world is going to end. Just believe in God and try to live right , Have compassion for people. UGH! I'm just sick of hearing stupid prophecies like 'the end is near' and stuff like that, the world has been around for billions of years and will be for billions to come. The Bible is full of errors, misstatements, contradictions, mistranslations, misinterpretations, etc, and is about the worst book you can have when it comes to reference. I AM an atheist, my parents ARE believers, I HAVE read the entire bible, and I don't believe a word of it. Sorry for this rant, but I had to let it out. |

With that said I'd like to express my point of view on dying young and bad people being here longer than good people. If you belive that we're here to "pay" for our sins and settle the score from old lives, it stands to reason that you'd die when your done "paying" for it, right? I agree with some of the above. God wants us as believers in him to live in his love not in our fears. Live life like it would end any second, which it may for any of us and don't worry about when the world will end. Be thankful for what you do have. We all have a limit to our life. And I always came up to the conclusion that the world will end someday, but that will be when this 'old rock' can't hold us no more. I mean, people say that God created this world in seven days. That is not true. Science has proven that it took billions of years for earth to become what it is today. Believers say that this world will end soon. I am a Roman Catholic and in the bible theres a parable and it happens to be my favorite its about a bride and shes waiting for her groom and she has 10 brides maids and they aren's sure of the time or the hour the groom will come, 5 of them are foolish and only bring enough oild for there lamps to last 2 hours and the other 5 have sense and bring extra to last them along time... well, time went by around 12:00 midnight the groom comes but eay before that the 5 foolish bride maids run out of oil and have to go back to town to get oil but while there aways the groom comes and they all leave with out the foolish 5. The point I'm getting out is no ones know the time nor the hour the Lord will come again... NO ONE KNOWS! The world has been around for a lot longer then 2000 years... don't forget b.c. years! Oh and you know how there are differnt time zones?!?! What?!?! is it goign to blow up in New York before Califonia?!?! Come on people!! I don't think so!!! |

to 2916 did you not just read what was written about being saved in the response just above you? I have been saved for almost twelve years. let me try to explain once again what salvation means. 1. Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sin. he allowed himself to die, they did not just take him to the cross, but he did it willingly to pay the sin dept. he was the perfect sacrifice for sin once and for all time. 2.to be saved a person must recognize that they are a sinner in need of a savior. if you will not acknowledge being a sinner then God will not save you, because that is calling God a liar, he says all men are sinners. 3.once you recognize that you are a sinner then you just ask God to forgive your sin , be willing to turn from any and all sin and tell God that you believe that he did indeed raise Jesus from the grave and that you wish to Have him{Jesus} become your savior. it is that simple or that complex. once you have said this sinners prayer then you believe that you are saved, read your bible for all it is worth and follow Jesus everyday. the bible says that God will turn no one away that is truly seeking. John 3:16 says that; God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever would believe on him{Jesus} should not perish but have eternal life. The book of Romans 10  ; 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. |

Why does everyone believe in these evil stories. That is the devil tricking u. Just like the devil trying to trick jesus he is tricking u with the bible. The bible was reworded by humans who have evil in them. They will write evil things in all of the stories. Jesus shows us and explains to us many times to your blind eyes and un opened ears god is all good. If you believed that God killed people your an idiot and stupid. That is a sin and god would be no different from the devil and not be all good and worth worshipping. That is main purpose to worship something that we can't be that is all good which jesus says god is. he is light and cannot have any darkness. That means he doesn't do evil. its not possible and if he did have darkness then that isn't god cause jesus said he is all light. So your just being tricked and don't think this revised bible is perfectly right. Humans wrote it and it has flaws in all the stories. U people are so brain washed and scared into religion that u end up believing that god will commit a sin just like the devil and the conclusion is that your saying god is no different from the devil and he has evil. This goes to the person 2 spots above who said something about the devil tricking you and the Bible being written by men etc..You said in your comments that "If you believed that God killed people your an idiot and stupid.". Now, you want to sit there and pass judgement on people and call people names, so here is a little criticism for you. And before you even try to say that I am evil and stupid, just remember this one fact. I am the son of a minister, and almost was a minister myself, so I pretty much know all there is to know about God and the Bible. You say that God never killed anyone. Ever hear the story of Noah and the Ark? God destroyed the entire population of the planet except Noah and his family, and of course 2 of each kind of animal.That means that everyone else was killed. And since God was the one that flooded the Earth, that must mean that God killed who knows how many people. Correct? Or do you think that is some story made up by evil men rewriting the Bible? Here's another question. Do you think that people would die in car accidents or be murdered or catch some deadly disease if God did not want it to happen? God is all knowing and all powerful right? So that must mean that he is letting people die, in effect killing them. Innocent children and babies, all being "killed" by God. But that does not make him evil, does it? Now, obviously you are someone who likes to think of themselves as a religious person. Anyone can tell, just from what you wrote. I am not sure how to interpret what you meant when you said that the Bible is full of stories written by men, so I am just going to take it literally. If the Bible is rewritten, then how do you know that you are following God's will and his laws? If the Bible is so flawed, then why do churches use it as a reference for how to conduct their sermon's and how to properly worship Him? If it is so flawed, then how do any of us know if we are really worshipping the right person. According to the literal interpretation of your comments, we all read the Bible like Homer Simpson, so maybe we have it all messed up and the Devil tricked evil men into rewriting the Bible so we are actually all Devil worshippers. The Bible is the Word of God, and if you are doubting the integrity of it, then maybe the devil has tricked you, my friend. Only God can judge, so leave it to him. Okay, this goes out to "Mr./Mrs. Anonymous" that I replied to before. First of all, I would like to give you a big "WHATEVER!!!" to the three posts above me that you wrote. All you do is say the same thing over and over without backing up and justifying any of your comments. You sound like a bad George Bush impersonation at certain points, such as "God is all good. DEvil is all bad". DUH!! I think we all got that point years ago. My question for you is how in the world do you of all people know which stories in the Bible are true and which are false? You said you took classes on it. Where? As far as I know, you would be the only person alive claiming to know these things. Are the voices in your head teaching you these classes? I don't mean to be insulting, but your posts and rantings are starting to edge on the insane!! You really sound like a crazed person whose walls are covered in aluminum foil. The ONLY WAY you could know which parts of the Bible are true/false is if you are as old as time itself and have lived through all of the events in Biblical times and witnessed them first hand. PERIOD!!! Now, there are certain stories in the Bible that are called "parables", which are stories that Jesus told to the masses to make it easier for them to understand complex thoughts and ideas and principles. These stories were indeed made up by Jesus, and are still in the Bible today. Now if these are the stories you are referring to, then fine. But you cannot be a modern day disciple of Jesus and pick and choose which parts of His Holy book you decide to believe. "I Am the Word, and the Word is God", were words spoken by Jesus. Jesus was the flesh and blood manifestation of God himself on Earth. Jesus said it himself, or do you think He was lying. No one has all the answers when it comes to religion, it is a debate that has gone on for thousands of years. But you seem to like to tell everyone else that they are evil and that their God is evil. Are you aware that you could possibly burn in Hell for all eternity for the way you are trying to twist the Word of God? One of the main things religion teaches is absolute faith. You obviously have no faith that the Word of your God is true and that you should follow it. The Bible also says "Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself". This means that if you try to pass judgement on people about God, then God will judge you. Every person comes to religion on their own terms and for their own reasons, and you are not the person who needs to judge those reasons. Whatever the reason for their turn to God is, it is not your place to say. By doing so, you are trying to put yourself in God's place. And I can tell you right now, pal, you are not worthy. No humans are. No one except God is worthy. I can tell you are very into your version of religion, and in some ways it is a good thing, but you really need to get your act together and quit trying to change God's word to suit your limited comprehension of it. The Bible is what is is and it can never be anything more or less. It is not for us to twist around and doubt, and it is not up for change. You put your faith in God(supposedly), so why not put some of that faith into His words and His teachings. Quit being stupid, and definitely stop calling people evil because they don't believe the same misguided beliefs that you have. Now, if you can prove to myself and others that the Bible is full of falsities, as you have continually stated, then please do so. It will be a historic moment for all mankind. To the reply just above. Jesus did not say that the world would end in his life time, but its funny because since Jesus is God and can never die, then does that mean that the world will never end? Here once again for you who missed it is what the bible portrays as the end. first it will come when no one expects it. two the earth itself will not end but the world system of rule will end and many millions of people will die. the bible portrays a country that very much looks like modern day China going to war{it has an army of two hundred million men} and China can now field that many men. it will kill a third of mankind upon the earth. they go to war with another big country like the U.S. this country and china and some other countries meet at a place in Israel called meggido or Armageddon and there is where the end comes. they start out fighting each other but then Jesus Christ returns to earth to save Israel from annihilation and those armies start to do battle against Jesus Christ at which time he destroys them and their commander who is the antichrist.but before this all happens there are huge earthquakes and the mark of the beast and all sorts of bad thing that happen. there is a seven year period between the beginning and the end of the great tribulation which is what this end of the age is called. the the unknown author above. a lot of people go to God to Get saved for a lot of different reasons, some are afraid of going to hell and some are afraid to live. some see the truth of scripture and are amazed at how they or anyone could have missed being saved for so long and how mislead and stupid they have been. I fall into a few of these catagorys myself. I am 47 years old and knew how to get saved and that God was calling me to get saved from the time I was a little boy {my grandfather was a preacher when I was younger} but I said "no" I have not lived out my life the way I want to yet,so I did not get saved until 36 years old. by the time I did get saved I had lived a bad life breaking many of the commandments and hurting other people over and over, not to mention how I totally messed up my own life. well to make a long story short, my wife came home one day talking about getting saved and we got a bible and I was going to show her that those funndy christains were full of it, but once I started to read I understood that God loved me and wanted the best for my life and that he had put up with a great deal from me but was still calling me to get saved. I knew that if anyone deserved to go to hell , it was me. so I started out afraid but as I read more and more about Jesus; I grew to Love him for who he was and what He stood for, and then I got saved and I must tell you that I regret, ever not going to God at that first call when I was a child. I never had the peace that I do now or the lack of fear and I was always looking, for what I did not know. to me its like having that one great love of your life there and you just don't see it so you go around the world looking for what was standing in front of you all the time. |

to continue the great tribulation starts out with huge earthquakes and astrological anomalies such as huge meteors falling from space and disrupting things and poisoning water supplies and fish. then there are some smaller wars and the mark of the beast, put on the people of the earth. then a third part of the earths day is darkened by God. and a third part of the night stars won't shine. now because many people will refuse to take the mark of the beast from the antichrist system they will be put to death by beheading. after this will come the war to end all war and it will be the mother of all battles. the one I described to you above. it is said that the blood will flow so high as to reach up to the bridle of a horse. all of this is to happen in the future and has not happened yet. to continue from above. now I said that God is allowing this to happen and that is true. when Jesus was crucified in 33a.d. by the romans and the Jews nothing happened for about 37 years. but in 70 A.D. just as Christ had foretold to the Jews, Jerusalem was destroyed by the romans and Israel was wiped out as a country. many thousands of jews were killed and taken captive and were not allowed to return to Israel for almost two thousand years. this was an act of God allowing this to take place. now here we are two thousand years in the future and Israel is a nation again and now the world is going to pay for rejecting the savior. the world "at large" has said no to Jesus Christ and in saying No to him{Jesus Christ} they are saying yes to Satan and his antichrist. they are wanting Satan and his evil; so God is going to pull back and let this world have its ruler of darkness; Satan. woe to this world for its rejection Of the Lord Jesus Christ. First I would like to say that the Antichrist is not among us at this time. That will not happen until the Tribulation. He will come with a message of peace and unity...making the world adore him and call him the Messiah...but true Christians will know the truth. Second, what was your initial reason for being saved? Did you long to have Christ in your life as your Savior? Or did you do it because you didn't want to go to Hell? These are obviously two different things. I am certainly not judging you as some of the others here obviously are, I am only trying to show you the truth. Study your Bible and go to www.leftbehind.com. Left Behind is a series of books by two awesome writers who obviously know the Bible well. I have been in church all my life...I was saved when I was five years old, but I have never truly understood the Rapture or the Tribulation until now. I want as many people as possible to check these books out. I don't read very often...partly due to getting bored easily and the other part due to needing new glasses...it gives me a headache. But these books...well...let's just say that it's taking me an average of two days to finish each one. They are very interesting and graphic and are hard to put down. Please consider it. I am sending this message with love, being saved is a huge step, you will be filled with the holy spirit. No matter what happens, the spirit will change you, even if it was a last minute scare type situtation, you ve proven you re self to God because you excepted the blood of Jesus Christ, and when you except that, you also except the holy spirit. you re heart will start being more kind more forgiving, more loving, I know because it is written, and also because it happened to me. I don t think you should be so concerned with the ending of the world, but the coming of the rapture, believing our Lord exists will save you during the rapture, but when it comes to the great judgement, you ll want to be faultless in his eyes. He will judge every idle word we all have said during our lives, and those are just words what about actions? we have to try and live our lives according to the word of God, I am a sinner and I am just a house wife, nobody special, but I try to do whats right. The reason I think I know some of these things is because I read ALOT. I hope some of the things I have written will help with the things on your mind, but God will help you more if you just ask him. Since Christianity has been around for only 2000 years (I am not trying to be snide) and many religions do not accept the Christian calendar and some who do are not Christian at all. To many wonderful, peaceful, loving people it is just another day to them. I have heard that during the last millenium, the same things happened (obviously minus the technologically based problems). This is not widely known since there is only a small amount of documentation. They didn't have a way to record nor televise the problems we have today. With so many of the nuclear arms being bought and sold on the black market and as the United States tries to police all countries, i believe someone will want to make a statment and *poof* we are an example and gone. i do not believe in a god. i believe in me. i think that christianity tries to scare its followers into believeing what it states, because if you don't believe in "their" god then you will burn in hell. You won't know the spring from the winter, the summer from the fall, children will begin to kill their parents, blood will shed for foolish reasons, etc. If you are able to rent videos, I would suggest a movie named "The Seventh Sign" it walks you through the book of Revelation as it is written. Oddly enough, the boook of Revelation is my favorite book.
