Well, since there are only three requirements to be eligible to be a candiate for presidency I would say he probably meets all three of them which, are: Natural born US Citizen, at least 35, and resident of the US for at least fourteen years.  |

Wrong Prissy: Term natural born citizen means that even if, a person is born outside of the United States to parents whom are natural born citizens you are in turn a natural born citizen automatically:) Also, at the time of McCain's birth I believe that Panama was considered a part of the US still:D  |

The Fourteenth Amendment states that "all persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States." Since Hawaii is part of the United States, EVEN IF Barack Obama's parents were both non-U.S. citizens who hadn't even set foot in the country until just before he was born, he'd still qualify as a natural-born citizen.
Some have claimed that Barack Obama's Hawaiian birthplace doesn't qualify him as a natural-born citizen because Hawaii was not yet a state when he was born. This claim is wrong: Hawaii was admitted as the 50th state almost two years before Barack Obama's birth there (21 August 1959 for statehood vs. 1961 for Obama's birthdate.

Yeah, what Radman said. There has been subjects of debates over whether either of them meet the requirements for Presidency due to where they were born. I think they both clearly meet the standards. I don't even understand why there is any debate over it for either candidates...  |

I mean, come on- if you know you're not eligible and you run then it makes you a national liar (plus you can't be President). People will believe what they want to. It is just that simple. People have the choice to vote. Would I want to take a chance on voting for Obama, no! I even felt this way before I read this post or became privvy to this information. I am not willing to take the chance that what has been states is false, but hey that is just me. Be free, vote for whomever and we too all shall see what will be. :(  |
