I wish I could help you. I would think that spacers would work and be suffice. I also think that the glass ones would be okay to leave in. I am just assuming here, so don't quote me on that. :-p |

I just asked a radiologist. She said to take every thing out. Not only will everything show up in the x-ray, but the glass could have minerals in it that could burn you. |

I paid $100 to get my industrial pierced and about two months later, I got a concussion. I had to have an MRI and they made me take it out.. it closed up. =( As for your glass plugs, why not just take them out? Your stretched hole won't close that fast.. I have half inch holes and I can leave them out for a day at a time without them shrinking. |

The only suggestion I have hun is that if you don't want to take them all out yet, wait until the latest one has healed and then get your teeth done...JMO :) |

Hmmm I'm not too sure. I would think that glass and plastic may be okay. Are you able to contact the person that pierced you? You could ask them about it, or ask the dentist. I got my wisdom teeth taking out long time ago before I started collecting piercings. |

If it's just to take x-rays, they won't close up in the lil time it takes to get the x-rays done. Just take out all of your piercings before going to your x-ray appointment...I've got piercings in my ears, and I could go a year or longer with no earrings in and my holes haven't closed up. |

Creech, aw, that's bad news. Oh well, I guess it is better than me leaving them in and getting burned and/or having to pay money for another x ray. |

Oh wow Rika, $100? That's a lot of money for it. I only had to pay $30, with the extra $10 added on because I wanted a rainbow barbell. I'm okay with taking all of them out except for one, which is relatively new, because it's just one of those ones that likes to start to shrink in a minute or less (no joke). |

I don't know Wyn, I've had 6 week old piercings close up on me when I had to take them out for a 5 minute band thing. They didn't close up completely, but it hurt getting them back in :(. |

Plastic wouldn't show up...only metal would. |

It's not the showing up that’s the problem it's the reaction to the X-ray (may cause heat and burn you) and the ability of metal to retain radiation (Thus a long term dose, “Very bad”). The same goes for some plastics to be on the safe side remove all piercings just before and replace them just after and you should be fine. |

i was an x-ray tech...it will all show up:plastic, glass, metal, etc. (screenprinting from shirts even shows up if you do a chest xray!). I would just wait until right before the xray to take out your piercings, then put them in right after...it shouldn't close up that quick because an xray only takes a minute or two. |
