I agree with you. I was just like you when I was in highschool. My hubby now says I have no friends, but you know what I told him? "I don't need friends when I have family, becase it would take time away from my children" I have always felt more comfortable around older people or mostly guys. I have a ton of guy friends at work and love them just like I do a girl friend. Girls I feel tend to judge more and compete. I can't stand friends who show off or think that they are better than someone else. Girl I feel ya!! I'm just like you are.Misty |

I do! I've been to many movies alone and spent many nights alone to myself in the house. I think though it's cause I tend to befriend guys before girls and they just seem to have a different agenda to girls. Won't catch them watching a girlie movie! LOL In saying that, it would be nice to have some closer girlie friends though. |

I'm like you, I enjoy being alone sometimes. I really don't have very many friends at all. Most of my friends that I had in high school I don't even talk to anymore. I guess it was just a superficial friendship. Sometimes I really don't like hanging out with other girls because it's so complicated. I agree, I think it's crazy how so many people in society think it's wierd to go to movies alone...or a restaurant. I think it's perfectly fine. I enjoy my alone time. So, your not alone! good post. |

I am frequently alone, and I love it! I have my core of good friends, my crowd when I want it, but I am perfectly happy being by myself. I prefer going to movies with a friend, but it doesn't kill me to go alone, either! Part of it has to do with the fact that you're female, and people are used to seeing women accompanied by someone. Yes, this is a sexist custom! My advice is just say something like, "No, it's not sad. It's my choice." That'll shut them up! |
