Bush really tough on terror, really resolute? really?--r1

I'm listening to Bush, and his rhetoric the past two weeks or so. I think I have his reason down for why we should vote for him.

He might say something like, "Elect me! I'm tough on terror cuz I invaded Iraq. And Kerry changes his mind sometimes. So I'm more resolute!"

That's pretty much his mantra. He can be trusted to fight terror becasue dangit, he invaded Iraq! All I have to say to that is, wooop tee dooo! So he invaded Iraq. Does that all the sudden just make him the default candidate who's tough on terror? To me someone is tough on terror if they send 190,000 soldiers after the folks in Afghanistan who actually did do stuff to us! Republicans say Democrats are weak on terror because they just want to sue terrorists. Republicans aren't much better. They want to chase people who didn't even cause something that hurt us! At least the dems go huntin down the right trail!

And Bush is resolute and consistent because Kerry changes his mind? Bush reminds me of two cars that went into a ditch. The driver of one car says to the police officer, "That man over there is a bad driver, he drove into a ditch!" Excuse me Bush, but you change your mind too! Bush drives into ditches too.

Bush isn't tough on terror because he invaded Iraq. If anything he's weak on terror. If he had sent more soldiers to Afghanistan, we could of captured Osama at Torah Bora, right away. But becasue of Bush's weakness on terror, Osama got away!

Date: 9/27/2004 5:20:00 PM  From Authorid: 55967    Well, I'd say this post is a case of putting words into someone else's mouth. Bush never said that he's tough on terror just because he invaded Iraq.
Date: 9/27/2004 5:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 62246    I'd like to know where you get your resources from.
Date: 9/27/2004 5:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    Things are going very well in Afghanastan. Over 90 percent of the country has registered to vote. If you'll remember, we were told by the media and those who didn't think we could win in Afghanastan that we couldn't bomb Afghanastan back to the stone age, because they were already living in the stone age. Osama either got away or is dead and it is probably due to the cease fire we allowed to take place...because we were trying to let the Northeran Allience have a say in how the war was fought...that was a military decision, not a White house decision. Dead or in hiding, I think Osama is pretty well neuterlized and so is the Taliban and I'm not sure what good more soldiers would do..What WOULD more soldiers do in Afghanastan besides being targets? I think we probably have plenty of special forces there which is what is needed and right before the elections take place more troops will be sent. As far as Iraq, lets see, we took a country the size of California faster than a Frenchman can surrender....that's pretty kickass if you ask me. When was a war ever NOT hard? If the insurgency problem really was a very big issue, their is no way 40,000 or so American soldiers could control a country of millions.
Date: 9/27/2004 6:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 15228    One other thing I should add. IF Osama is alive (and I have my doubts), he is probably in Pakistan along the border where the Pakistan military doesn't even have control...since we can't go into Pakistan, more troops in Afghanastan would be useless...Remember that football player that died (forget his name)? He was special forces and I doubt they are using special forces to build roads, they are probably looking for Osama under every stone and in every cave.
Date: 9/27/2004 10:34:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47162    kelly so if osama's neutralized, it's ok...how come it wasn't ok to keep saddam neutralized..? ugh...
Date: 9/28/2004 3:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 30229    Bush isnt tough on terror, he is just a money monger and it suited his needs... finish what Daddy started, blah blah blah.... Bush is a very dangerous man, and another 4 years of him will be the death of poor peoples careers and benefits. Even old people havent escaped his reign of terror on our pocketbooks .... UNLESS you own a big business, THEN everything is okay.. ugh.
Date: 9/28/2004 4:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 24924    Bush's "get tough" doesn't feel like strength to me. NOT at all. Instead, I feel trapped....riding shotgun in a vehicle driven by a bunch of drunken maniacs at 100 mph toward a brick wall. The fact that they don't blink doesn't make me feel any safer.
Date: 9/28/2004 4:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 24924    Karl Rove has been very successful in inoculating the Bush Administration from major discrepancies between what the SAY and what they DO by being first to call their opponents a “flip flopper.” They are, after all, the masters at running campaigns based on ridicule and personal attacks. Yet when it comes to changing positions on vitally important issues resulting in disastrous consequences for the American people, the Bush Administration takes the GOLD. BUSH doesn't care one diddley squat about the people. All that good ole-boy, shoot-em-up, go get em, aw shuckies sideshow hawking is nothing but a little boy playing cowboys and India...oops, Iranians. It's all about POWER...and winning. All about PARTY loyalty. He KNOWS the "tough on terror" stance will win the election. It doesn't matter one bit what the reality is. The reality is: one need remind the American people that to find those WMD's, they should look into the Oval Office. Mass destruction of our foreign policy. Mass destruction of our economy. And, you want four more years of going downhill; four more years and a few thousand more deaths of our brave young men and women in Iraq? Four more years of right-wingers and a president who thinks God is speaking to HIM?? Remember: when anyone calls Kerry a "flip-flopper" .....just THINK: is it better that someone can think of both sides of an issues than someone who doesn't think at all? Better than someone who just reacts and to hell with the results?? To Bush, thinking appears to be "wishy-washy", and re-thinking or coming up with a better plan or altering one's stance (based on newer and better data/evidence) is being a "flip-flopper". He is NOT a leader. Bush is a PUPPET... of corporate friends in high places, while he PRETENDS to be "tough". Yeah...really.
Date: 9/28/2004 5:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 2030    Pretty easy to second guess. So tell me what was the right move? And what is Kerry going to do? You guys are sounding frantic here.
Date: 9/28/2004 8:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 25390    Vote NADER!
Date: 9/28/2004 8:09:00 AM  From Authorid: 15228    In fairness to Kerry he does have a 4 point plan on Iraq---which echoed Bush's plan---than a week later he comes out with 9 point plan which again echoed Bush's plan, although two of the 9 points were the same. Oh yes, he is going to do it "smarter and better" to. Kerry insists France and germany are going to take over Iraq when he is President--- at the same time France and Germany insist there is no way they are getting involved with Iraq. I'm sure with Kerry's great powers of diplomacy already displayed by calling Allawi a US puppet (which we KNOW our enemies in the middle east will echo--or is it Kerry echoing them?), that he will somehow bring them around.
Date: 9/28/2004 9:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 34487    Wow, I'm sorry but this post is hilarious. Bush should've sent more troops to Afganistan and because he didn't Ossama got away??? How do you know that? How do you know that Ossama isn't dead? I guess you've got some inside information that the rest of us don't huh? As for your view that invading Iraq was wrong because they didn't hurt us? OKAY...let's be a totally REACTIVE approach only and wait till he does? Not Goood....being PROACTIVE is what's necessary and 9-11 should've made that clear to everyone in the U.S. Being only concerned about the well-being of our country and not the innocent lives of torchured Iraqis is another problem. It just goes to prove that many Americans are spoiled and couldn't care less about those outside of the U.S. SAD, very sad.
Date: 9/28/2004 2:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 19613    "How do you know that Osama isn't dead?" According to Pakistan, based on informaiton form interrogated Al Quaida members, Bin Laden is most likely alive and hiding out somewhere in Pakistan.
Date: 9/28/2004 4:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 47162    dark..she's playing the usual republican game where a "might be" equals an "it is" example..."The sky might be purple with pink polka dots" there for the sky is purple with pink polka dots...Osama might be dead..therefore..Osama "IS" dead....they use this same line of thinking on many things...There "might" be weapons of mass destruction, therefore, There ARE WMD's. To a republican, a probable thing is as real as a certain thing..I think I made a post about this earlier.
Date: 9/28/2004 11:07:00 PM  From Authorid: 37900    If the President seems to be repeating the "mantra" of consistency, it is for two reasons: 1) Senator Kerry's own words indicate he has no core principles. Is there any issue of substance in which the Senator has expressed consistent ideas? 2) The Senator has failed to distinguish himself as someone the American people should vote for. His political platform seems to be that, since anyone is better than the President, voters should select him. IMO, Senator Kerry's supporters would cast a more intelligent vote if they chose Ralph Nader. At least Mr. Nader has principles; small wonder many Democrats fear that he will pull votes from the Senator.
Date: 9/29/2004 8:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 16671    Alfrowi and others pretty much said it all. I dont usually watch the presidental debate but I'm sure going to this time as I too would like to know kerrys Ideas as so far all he can do is bash bush for what he does or doesnt do.
Date: 9/29/2004 9:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    R1...you know what they say about those who ASSUME things. First of all oh naive one...I am not a republican. I vote for the best candidate, not a PARTY. And as for your and Dark Pheonix's comments about Osama...I guess you both have some information that PROVES Osama is alive and kicking, some definite proof huh? You both are making me laugh. Can I ask what tomorrow's lotto numbers will be then, I could use them.
Date: 9/30/2004 8:14:00 AM  From Authorid: 19613    You Choose, I never claimed to have proof that Osama is alive. However since my information came from people who would be most likely to know whether Bin Laden is alive or not, it seems only logical to assume he is still alive. Unless you have some evidence to suggest otherwise?
Date: 9/30/2004 8:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    I think it only seems logically to not assume to know either way.
Date: 9/30/2004 8:38:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    above should be... "logical"
Date: 10/25/2004 10:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 62928    BUSH SUCKS
Date: 10/26/2004 7:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    LOL...wow, there's^^^^^ an in-depth and well thought our response.
