Call other insurance compaines. Also, if it's paid for and your a good driver then get liability at the minimum. |

Hmm, that's weird. I've never heard of such a thing. I'd call around to other companies to see if they offer full coverage. Better to get full coverage through someone else than minimal coverage with your current insurance..  |

wouldn't pay for full coverage insurance on something that old, unless it was a classic. Especially with being a newer driver, your rates will be obscene. I'd do the PLPD thing and put the difference in savings. You'll be ahead in 6 months and have enough money for a down payment in case something happens.  |

Merc's right-- when a car is that old, sometimes the insurance isn't worth the price of the car and you're better off putting the money in savings.  |

I had a car that was 10 years old and even though I had a loan and was paying it..I could not get full coverage..so I shopped around..and managed t find a broker that got me full coverage.....just keep shopping arouond....  |

we have full coverage on a 1957 chevy and had it once on a 68 mustang. check with state farm and allstate. they covered our cars. i think we had to set a value on them and pay the rate that it would take to replace the total car. like if you think it would take 10,000.00 to replace your car they charge you the rate for that ammount. it's been a while but i think that's the way we did it.  |

that sux becuase it is probbly more safe and logical to give full coverage to new drivers because they are more likely to get into accidents because they are not use to the road. but the problem is they are aware of it that is why they do it the other way because they know if your an old driver it is safers finationaly to give full coverage because they know they are less likly to pay. it just proves that people are more driven by money then the well being of others these days.  |

Call around to other insurance companies,and see what they say..Sometimes they will have an adjuster come out and look at the vehicle and decide if it's available for full coverage,it may be just because of the make and model....The older a vehicle gets the harder it is to get parts for it,and thus the cost of those parts gets higher,and the supply get's lower...Sometime the insurance companies will use Blue book values,while others have their own set of values..I had no problem getting full coverage on a '94 Ford Probe...Just call around,maybe it's time for a change anyway.....  |
