The teachers have a right to be irritated. Using slang on papers just expresses the students laziness and overall gives off the "I don't care" attitude. They should also at least make the effort of TRYING to sound smart.   |

I use that like when I write letters to friends or when I am writing notes, but never do I write like that when I have to turn it into the teacher. I think it makes people look stupid when they use language liek that on school papers. And if i used it i would not expect to great of a grade.  |

I only use internet slang on the computer. If I was a teacher, I would get irritated too. People are getting "lazy" with their writing, when they take the slang off the computer, and into their school work.  |

the only internet slang I use online is the 'lol' 'lmao' 'roflmao'....sometimes IMO...and OMG but that's about it....I cannot STAND when people do u for you or ur for your....to ME...and this was all the english classes I've taken and the journalism major in me screaming but it just makes you seem LAZY! it takes me SO much longer to read a post/comment when people do that...among other slangs...  |

I don't use slang on the internet or anywhere else, It annoys me that the person I am talkin to is to lazy to type in 2 extra letters (U= you. Or when they say "thanx" it's thaNKS, not thanx.. grrr. I hate internet slang.  |

on papers for school... i sometimes do u (try not to) and i do "i" lowercase (teachers hate that sometimes), and instead of because i write cuz.. theres more but oh well, but on notes to friends and everything.. my whole thing is i, u, cuz, lol w/e, lmao lol its crazy  |

If there is no effort put into the paper..ie: using internet slang to save time, then a low grade is the only answer..If you want the good marks, make the extra effort to spell the words correctly.  |

Well, on my scchool papers, I never did write any internet slang. Even though, if I'm writing a little note myself, I'll sometimes use some slang. My most common one is w/ (with) or w/o (without). But that's only when writing stuff to myself.  |
