sounds like a great trip, I'm from TX, so I can't help ya, but if you visit our beaches, you might just walk away with an unwanted souvinier (sp) wrapped around your leg (ie. jellyfish) |

lol, my fiancee told me that if you get stung by a jellyfish, you have to have someone pee on the spot where you get stung! he had done it to two of his friends and he said it helped. Yuck! |

uhh.. you'll see broken shells and some rocks lol you'll find a lot of seaweed and stuff. I live in Oregon, but I'm sure a beach is a beach. Here we can see starfish on the rocks (and it's COLD here) and you can see sea urchins and whatnot |

Maybe some shark's teeth, a few shells. I dont know what they have there though. Here you can find loads of shark's teeth, lots of pretty shells. wow! it DOES sound like a great trip. unfortunatly, i can't help you either. my husband and i went to florida a few years back and we went to the ocean because i had never seen it either. the only problem was, i didn't WANT to see it. lol. i am terrified of big waters (oceans, lakes, rivers...anything that i don't know what is at the bottom or has sharks and stuff in it.) therefore, i sat in the car while he went in the water. LOL. |

I haven't been to the beach in about a year. It's always so cold there too. I like collecting sea shells and even sand from there. |

OOH, sounds like fun!! I've never been to the beach THERE, but yeh i've lived near one for most of my life...You can get shells, maybe a starfish if you find a tidepool which is like a shallow bit of water..you might find seaslugs, which are kinda cute but i've heard that some are dangerous so be careful Don't worry about the seaweed, it's fun to throw at people lol! be careful with jellyfish..apparently if one stings you, pee on the sting helps sooth it LOL, yep yep...just some useful info there |

Nah, the shells will be on top of the sand for the most part, from when the tide washes them up on the beach. You might even find a crab, LOL. I also live in Oregon and there are starfish all over the place along the coast, though I've mostly seen them in Pacific City on the rocks. It's kind of hard to describe what a tide pool is, LOL, it's like the ocean water..salty..but it's not. In Pacific City, there are huuuuge rocks with holes and crevices in them, with living plants and animals that reside in them. In tide pools you'd most likely find little crabs, starfish, sea urchins, little fish, barnacles, and small muscles. You CAN take sea urchins home but I wouldn't reccommend taking them from the water, LOL..you can buy dried ones in pretty colors from lots of shops on the coast. The ones in the water are squishy, and if you poke one with something, it will close up, LOL. Hope I helped some. *hugs* Love always, ~Tara~ |

You might see a nice piece of driftwood that has been shaped by the water. You might see razor shells. Get a metal detector and maybe find some lost diamond rings, but more likely beer cans. |

i live on the east coast on the ocean, we dont have starfish here we get some shells when they decide to pump some more sand on our beach lol we have bad erosion. so here we see mostly trash left by not only the tourist but our locals too that is sad but true. my favorite place in the world is the beach, the ocean but i always respect it and dont take it for granted. have fun i know that you will. ::HUGS:: |

sea shells, star fish and sand dollars to name a few. There is tons of flotsam and jetsom in the ocean, and the cold isn't that cold. Up here in BC we are alot colder and we get all those things. |
