Before passing out on the couch, Ray bawled me out about not filling in my quota of listening to his stupid cd of perverted talk.
"You're a freakin' wuss!" Ray bellowed. Kelsey stood off in the distance, looking out the window at the freshly fallen snow. Why didn't she defend me.
"I'm not a wuss." I stared down at my feet, trembling from the fear of him turning into Bailey. I'd taken enough abuse from some of these idiots. I'd had enough.
"From now on, you are going to listen to that cd, plus read some of those magazines for two hours a day," he growled, referring to the dirty magazines he kept stashed under the sink in the downstairs bathroom.
When I didn't say anything, he snarled, "Go make me a drink, you nasty creature." He shoved me towards the kitchen.
An evil idea crossed my mind. I've never done anything deliberately mean to anybody, but I decided that now would be my only hope of escaping from the cruelty of others. I knew how to mix a drink together, but from watching disturbing movies, I also knew how to keep someone busy. I mixed Ray's drink together, but I also dumped nearly a whole bottle of laxatives into the tumbler. He was so drunk; there was no way he'd notice anything.
I brought him the drink and went up into my room to pack up what little things I wanted to bring with me. I was going to escape from this stupid house. Tonight.
Less than an hour later, Ray was on the toilet. I took that as a cue to get out of here. But before I left, Kelsey met me in the front hall. "Why are you leaving?" she asked.
"I have to go. I can't take Ray's crap anymore," I replied. I pulled on a knitted beanie to cover my shaved head; it was chilly from the slight drizzle.
"I'll talk to him about how he treats you." Her voice was pleading.
"If I continue to put up with his crap, I'll wind up jumping out a window." I fingered a skull-shaped earring. Fright was whorl inside of me, building up to an incredible crescendo. I wanted to pass out, but my will to leave was to great.
"Stay here, Honey, please. I can't stay with him alone," she whined.
"Why don't you leave, soon, too?" I suggested.
She sighed. "I don't know." I yanked open the door and stepped out into the drizzling weather.
I never saw her again. You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 51070 ( Click here )
