I'd always wondered where the "The worms play pinochle on your snout" phrase had come from! As far as that "Old woman all skin and bones" song, I remember singing that at a Halloween recital back in grade school! Cool post, Alien!... ![]() |

I used to know this one... But it is a diff. variation.. Don't ever laugh as the hearse goes by, For you may be the next to die, They put you in a big black box, Then cover you up with dirt and rocks, All goes well for about a week, Then your coffin begins to leak, The worms crawl in, the worms crawl out, The worms play Pinochle on your snout, They eat your eyes, they eat your nose, They eat the jelly between your toes, A big green worm with rolling eyes, Crawls through your stomach and out your eyes, Inside it leaves a pukey green, Then it rolls out like whip cream, Thats what you eat when your dead. ![]() |

We had another rhyme we used to say outside that was pretty gross, and I have no idea what the origin of it is: "Great big gobs of greasy, grimy gopher guts...Mutilated monkey meat...roasted, toasted parakeet...Warmed up vomit strolling down the avenue...Eat it in the lunch room today!" The cafeteria ladies weren't impressed...![]() |
