I don't know if this is the type of thing you deal with or if you can help me but I figure it is worth a try. My name is Andrea, and I am not directly affected by this story, however, it does affect someone I love very dearly...my brother. My brother Richard and I have different father's, and while my father had always been there for him, he has always wanted to know his real father and the half brother and sister that he has never met. There is a catch. My mother doesn't want to see Richard's father again, and getting any information out of her is like pulling teeth, which is understandable seeing as how Richard's father was very abusive toward her. That doesn't, however, make Richard want this reunion any less. Let me start at the beginning, or what I know of the beginning. Manfred Ernst Rausch, Richard's father, came over from Germany. I have little way of knowing what year, however it was probably in the 50's or early 60's. He married and had two children, Michael and Denise. He divorced Mike and Denise's mother (that's about all I know about that relationship) and then married Sylva L. Hostetler (my mother). Manfred and Sylva were married between 1966 and 1968, in Virginia. In 1969 (March 3rd), Richard Ernst Rausch (my brother) was born. The marriage last until (I'm guessing) around 1970 or 1971. My mother met my father, Samuel L. Webb, they married in 1972 and I came along a little later. That is the basic story. All I can do is let you know what little information I know about Manfred Ernst Rausch. Like I said he is from Germany, went by the name Fred, had a heavy accent but that could have changed, he was a very heavy drinker, and at one point, before he married my mother he was stationed (in the Army) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Last I heard he was in Alexandria, Virginia but I have had no luck finding him there. The really important part, to Richard at least, is finding his brother and sister, Michael and Denise. And I know even less about them than I do Manfred, actually I know nothing about them. I don't know if there is a fee for this but I don't have much money, however I would be willing to work out something if that is possible. If you need anymore information, (and if I have it) I will try to help. Thank you for your attention, and if this is not the sort of thing you do, I apologize for wasting your time. How it changed my life:Again, it doesn't directly affect me, but my brother has tried so hard to find his missing family members, and feels an empty place inside him where this other family should be. Also, the feelings he has for his father, (not all good I must admit) must come to some kind of confrontation, and then some kind of conclusion.
