My husband is looking for his birth mother. We have no real information other than her name was Jean Smith, he was born October 31, 1956 in Moorehead City, North Carolina. We \ have some photographs of her holding him at 13 days old. She was apparently staying with his adoptive parents, Carl Cecil Goodwin and Eva Jane Newell Goodwin. Both Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin are now deceased. They never gave him any information. There are striking resemblances between my husband and other family members however, all older family members state there is no blood relationship. My husband was never legally adopted. His birth mother apparently never gave up her parental rights. We do not know the circumstances surrounding how he came to stay with the Goodwins. He was legally adopted by them at age 19. His birth name was Darrell Ray Smith. We feel that his birth mother would be somewhere between 60 and 75 years old. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
