I was home alone one late night when a storm of furious winds and heavy rain hit. Through the spalters of rain on my window and the lighting and thunder I heard a crash sound coming from the second floor. I knew it had to be just the storm because no one else was in the house except my baby sister who had been asleep for more then an hour. Cautiously I went to the stairs and slowly headed up. When I reached the top of the stairs I had a cold shiver run down my spin and the hair on my neck was standing on end. At the end of the hallway the beautiful stain glass window that my great grandfather built and put in himself in memory on my great grandmother now lay on the floor in millions of pieces. Where the window used to be now stood a dark figure that kind of looked like a picture of my great grandfather that my mother had shown me a few months back. She told me that my great gradfather was putting the window in during drizzle and lightening had struck him. He was killed inst! antly. She also told me I was never to touch the window but never told me why !? The dark figure entered the room at the end of the hall. (But how I thought to myself it had been locked for almost 75 years). The room belonged to my grandmother when she was a kid but she has been dead now for almost 6 years now. In fright I ran to my sisters room grabbed her and ran out of the room. I glanced down the hall when I stood at the top of the stairs and the window was there but now on the window was an image of my great grandfather and great grandmother and my grandmother taking my mother to heaven. I then recieved a phone call stating my mother had been killed in a car accident when she hit a transport truck head on. Today I live with my father in London, England and we still have the stain glass window now sitting in the hallway of our new house. How it changed my life:It made me look at life alittle closer.
