I think that there should be smoking in bars. I am a nonsmoker, but I do enjoy a cigarette now and then if I go to a bar. It goes hand in hand with alcohol for me. In Arizona, smoking is not allowed inside, but bars are the exception. DoodleBug |

I think any bar any restarant or for that fact any establishment that whants too should be able to allow smoking. Simply put up a sign stating that smoking is allowed inside and the environment may be hazardess to ones health. Any one who is afraid that breathing some second hand smoke will kill them is then free to walk on down the street in the polluted California air to another place that does not allow smoking. |

Well said, BCAR! Doodlebug, good point, there's quite a few people that I know that are not normally smokers, only when they drink. Kitt, thanks for your post about the California smoking law, it made me think of posting this. |

We have had the same law in Ny state for at least 10 years now. However private establishments are bale to use thier own discretion with it. We can smoke in bars and restaurants that are owned by certain companies. Most of your fast food chains like Mcdonalds or Burger King don't have smoking. But the Olive Garden allows it in thier bar but not thier restaurant. So they have left most of the discretion up to the owners |

I agree with you. It should be the owner's choice. ~Jetamio~ |

I agree it should be up to each owner. I think that would make everybody happy. In the town I live in before the law even took place there was a bar that did not allow smoking inside guess what they were just as busy as the bars that did allow smoking and there was a place for everybody. If I owned a bar or any other buss. I would be very against the lawmakers telling what I could and could not do with in my own building especialy when the very thing they say we cant do in our building is smoke but yet the owners can sell cigs. it is a legal substance. I just dont understand but I guess that is because I am a smoker. ... |
